Walmart’s egg suppliers in Chile
2022-12-01
Sinergia Animal's 2022 investigation shows the appalling conditions of egg production among Walmart's egg suppliers in Chile.
The investigators witnessed one-day-old chicks' deaths inside a transportation truck, and a farmer revealed that hundreds more were expected to die during their first days in the barns.
Adult hens had lost their feathers, exposing their bodies to lesions, and were subjected to forced molting, a practice of starving animals for up to 10 days to stimulate a new production cycle.
Sinergia Animal urges Walmart to adopt the same cage-free egg policy in Chile it has in the US.
